Provide transportation to the site and installation including site foundation piers as required, leveling of the buildings, installation of grade perimeter skirts where required and installation of tie down (_ anchors. 2 WORK NOT INCLUDED Earthwork Paving • Outside utilities • Utility connections 3 CODE REQUIREMENTS The building manufacturer shall observe and comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, codes, and regulations of governmental agencies, including federal, state, municipal and local governing bodies having jurisdiction over the work. 4 SUBMITTALS AND ACCEPTANCE Before commencing fabrication, submit the following for review and acceptance. (a) Complete shop and assembly drawings, based on the drawings and this specification, giving all details and information necessary for fabrication and assembly. Include all mechanical, plumbing and electrical work • within the buildings. • (b) Structural calculations and drawings, sealed and signed by a registered professional engineer verifying that the building design meets the design and code requirements as herein specified. • (c) Complete calculations for winter heat loss, summer heat gain, heating and air conditioning design requirements. (d) Complete listing of All materials proposed for use in the work, giving proof of compliance with the specified requirements. 5 C F BRAUN & CO Page 3 Specification 12 -75 R E Horn Exxon Company USA 5850- 190 - 951 -21 Colony Shale Oil MODULAR BUILDINGS Parachute, Colorado COLONY SHALE OIL PLANT 4 SUBMITTALS AND ACCEPTANCE Continued (e) Supplier shall check and adjust all systems and equipment after utility connections are complete to assure proper operation prior to final acceptance. • 5 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (a) FOUNDATION SYSTEM The modular building ectionsd shall rest on and be supported by pressure wood skids. The skids shall run the entire length • of the building and shall be permanently attached to the building. • The skids shall be treated with a creosote, or equal, preservative_ compressed into the wood to a certified minimum retention of 8 pounds per cubic feet. (b) FLOOR SYSTEM All floor framing members shall be chemically treated with manufacturers standard material for termite and rot protection. with subfloor shall be exterior grade pl�on w sheets installed with grain running perpendicular to the floor joists. Provide solid blocking between floor joists at all plywood joints. (c) BUILDING FRAME The building walls shall be constructed of 2x6 wood studs. The exterior surface shall be of aluminum siding and roofing with a white baked enamel finish. The interior shall be of hardwood plywood paneling w trim to match the paneling finish. The buildings shall be constructed with caulked joints and sealed to eliminate air ex£iltration and provide a weather tight construction. The Floors, exterior wa11S and roof shall be insulated with fiberglass insulation having a thermal resistance "R" of not less than 19. • 579 . Where indicated on the drawings the interior walls shall be insulated for sound control. • (e) DESIGN LOADS Unless indicated otherwise on the drawings the buildings shall be designed for the following loads. Floor - Live load, 40 pounds per square foot Roof - Live load, 20 pounds per square foot .Snow load, 20 pounds per square foot Win3 Load - 25 pounds per square foot (f) TIE DOWN ANCHORS Provide and install a sufficient number of building tie down anchors to grade to securely anchor the buildings to the ground to resist the horizontal wind load as herein specified. (g) CEILING Acoustical tile at 8 feet above floor. (h) FLOOR Vinyl asbestos floor tile with rubber topset base. - (i) WINDOWS Unless indicated otherwise on the drawings provide 2' -6" x 3' -0" aluminum horizontal sliding windows with automatic adjustable locking device and removable insect screens. • All windows shall be glazed with 1/4 -inch laminated safety glass. Set windows with sill 3' -0" above the floor. Provide venetian blinds at each window. (j) PERIMETER SKIRT Where indicated on the drawings that the floor of the building is to be elevated above grade provide standard aluminum perimeter skirt to match exterior building siding. All exterior -doors shall have vision panels of laminated safety glass and shall be provided with weatherstripping at head, jambs and sill. • All doors shall be equipped with the building . manufacturer's standard door closers except exterior doors shall be equipped with heavy duty closers which shall be mounted on the interior side of the door. • All exterior doors and those interior doors which • are indicated on the drawings shall be equipped with "BEST" 77K Series cylindrical locksets with interchangeable cores. Unless indicated otherwise on the drawings all other interior doors shall be equipped with "BEST" 77K Series latchsets. Furnish all locksets without cores. Keying system and • cores will be provided by others. Provide the following. STYLE - 4C, Marcy FINISH - US26D, Satin Chromium Exterior and interior doors to be locked Best 77K -B, Entry and office lock Interior doors not required to be locked ' Best 77K -ON, Passage Latchset Interior toilet room doors (where indicated) C. Include handrails as required. - (m) BUILDING TRIM Manufacturers standard corner, door and roof trim with baked enamel finish. Color as selected. Exterior door finish shall - match trim color. - (n) TOILET AND JANITORS FACILITIES Provide manufacturers standard, water closets, urinals, -- lavatories and service sinks. Provide vanity • type lavatories, furnish hot water heater with . each lavatory. (o) TOILET ROOM ACCESSORIES Provide manufacturers standard toilet partitions, mirrors, toilet I paper holders, paper towel dispencers and receptacles, and soap dispencers in each of the toilet rooms where shown on the drawings. 6 HVAC SYSTEMS - • (a) GENERAL Where indicated on the drawings furnish and install wall mounted cooling units with electric heating elements. Where indicated on the drawings furnish and install ceiling ducted central HVAC • units. .• All equipment and materials shall be new and the current model or type of a manufacturer regularly engaged in their production. (c) DESIGN REQUIREMENTS The building manufacturer shall design the HVAC system using the following design conditions. Inside design temperature of 75° F Outside temperature Winter: -6° F Summer: 88° F (Dry Bulb) 76 F (Wet Bulb) 7 ELECTRICAL (a) INSTALLATION The electrical installation shall comply with the National Electrical Code, latest edition. The electrical system shall be complete and, in general, concealed. All wiring shall be copper. (b) BY BUILDING MANUFACTURER The buildings shall have strip type fluorescent lighting fixtures with acrylic diffuser lens yielding approximately 100 foot candles at 30 inches above the floor. Provide separate light switches for each office, room or area. Grounded, 3 prong duplex convenience outlets shall be provided. Locate outlets at a maximum of 10 foot centers along the exterior and interior walls. The panelboard shall serve all lighting, receptacle, utility and appliance circuits required in the buildings. Adequate provision shall be made for the incoming feeder circuit and ground connection. (c) BY OTHERS One 200 ampere, 120/240 volt, single • phase, three wire feeder will be provided to each building. Isolation and equipment ground connections will be provided to the building.
