Dear Mr. McMurrey:
This letter will confirm our prior conversations regarding the
merits of a grease Interceptor for the above referenced facility.
The Battlement Mesa Metro. District is the local authority
responsible for wholesale wastewater transmission and treatment
on the Battlement Mesa site. Cloninger & Associates is
responsible to the Metro. District, through contract, for
operation, maintenance, management, and compliance with
regulations applicable to these facilities. We have reviewed the
clubhouse plans, evaluated our past experience with similar
facilities having grease interceptors on -site, reviewed planned
use of the clubhouse kitchen, and concluded that the District
will be best served by not requiring a grease Interceptor for
this facility.
Battlement Mesa has agreed to provide for seperate disposal of
kitchen grease at the clubhouse. This provision will apply
primarily to the disposal of deep fat fryer grease; It 1s
anticipated that other greases and waste oils that can be mixed
and taken by the waste recycling companies will also be disposed
of seperately.
This letter will serve as a local "administrative authority"
decision on the matter of a grease interceptor for the subject
clubhouse. Reference is made to the Colorado Plumbing Code 1985
edition (booklet #4741P) and the 1985 edition of the Uniform
Plumbing Code, Sections 102 Cc), 708 thru 713, and Appendix H. A
copy of this letter will be made available to the architect for
distribution to the appropriate licensed plumber. Please contact
me if there are additional questions on this matter.
