Dear Mr. Balcomb:
I am in receipt of an approval letter from the City Manager of Glenwood
Springs for your proposed individual sewage disposal system within the City
limits of Glenwood Springs.
I am enclosing an Application for said system which you should complete
and return to this office with the $75.00 fee. Once the percolation test holes
are prepared, please contact me to make an appointment for the soil test and
site review. After this is completed, we will recommend the minimum require-
ments for the wastewater disposal system to serve your new home. A copy of
the Permit will be submitted to the City for their approval before issuances
to you.
If you have any questions regarding these preliminary activities, please
call upon me.
Very truly yours,

Dear Scott:
In reply to your letter of April 27, 1978, requesting a septic
system and leach field for your proposed residence at 19th and
Bennett Avenue, permission is hereby granted; and we would like
to have a copy of the plans and specifications of the septic
system and that they be approved by Mr. Ed Feld, County Health
Sanitarian and the City's Building Inspector or Planner.
I would use your letter of April 17, 1978, as an agreement that
you would hook up to, or participate in,a City sewer line when
it comes within four hundred (400') feet of your property.
Scott, I am very sorry for the inconvenience this delay might
have caused you.
Sincerely,

John West
City Manager
City of Glenwood Springs
P.O. Box 728
Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
Dear John:
As a result of an on -site inspection performed on
property I own located east of Valley View Hospital within
the city, in which you, Dick Cole, Butch Blanco and I participated,
I am directing this letter request to you. The request is
that the city approve use of a septic tank and leach field
type of sewage treatment system on the subject property. As
you are aware, I intend to construct one single family
dwelling in the near future on one of the two lots which
have been previously approved by the city at this location.
The existing sewer main owned by the city is some 720 feet
distant from the lot line, and in order to make use of city
sewer, I would have to install a main of approximately this
length at considerable cost.
It is my understanding that in order to save me
the considerable cost of installing the main, which it is
unlikely others would need or be able to use in the near
future, the city is willing to allow me to proceed to
construction relying upon a septic tank and leach field type
of sewage treatment system. Of course, I understand that I
must agree to tap onto city service when and if the same
becomes available within a reasonable distance of my dwelling,
and pay at that time a fair and reasonable charge for such
service.
I understand that it will be necessary for me to
agree to this step in order to receive the city's approval
to use septic tank and leach field type of sewage treatment.
You may either consider this letter that agreement, or we
may draft a separate agreement if you think it desirable.
r .
John West, City Manager
April 27, 1978.

it is my understanding you will notify Ed Feld,
the County Sanitarian, of this decision and I will then work
• with him in getting the necessary details accomplished
concerning the type of septic tank and leach field system
which the site necessitates.
Thank you.
Very truly yours,
DELANEY & BALCOMB
