December 20, 1978 David R. Youberg, M.D. 900 Elwood Court Sac City, Iowa 50583 Dear Dr. Youberg: I am in receipt of yours of December 11, 1978 regarding your individual sewage disposal system at the Beaver Creek Ranch in Garfield County, Colorado. Please find attached your copy of the permit and the application for same. You will note the application was made for a system to serve a three bedroom home. I was not aware of the guest house or it being connected to the system, although the installed and approved present system should be adequate for your needs provided not more than six people use the system. In our calculations, we figure two people Per bedroom using 100 gallons of water per day or six people creating 600 gallons of wastewater per day. The system has been designed and installed for that maximum capacity. If in the future you rent the guest house and the total number of people using the septic system eaoeeds six, I would suggest either increasing the sizing of the present system or constructing a small septic system to serve just the guest house. If I may be of further assistance, please contact me. Very truly yours, ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT Edward L. Feld Department Head ELF /tls encls. RECEIVED DEC 1 9 1978 December 11, 1078 Garfield County Department of Environmental health 2n14 Blake Avenue Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81601 Dear Sire Recently I made arrangements with the B & B Plumbers i.n Rifle to install an individual sewage disposal field at the Beaver Creel: Ranch. They agreed to do this for a fee of $17oo.00, including obtaining all of the necessary permits and inspections and per- forming the work. However, when 1 received their bill, they sent along, permit number 658 issued and inspected by your office. In this permit, I notice that the number of bedrooms on the ranch is given - as three bedrooms. In fact, there are three bedrooms in the main house and perhaps two more bedrooms in the small house. At the present time, the small house is used only for approximately four weeks per year by myself and my family, however there is the possibility that in the future a small family might occupy it all of the time. Both of these houses were connected into the existing septic tank and sewage system, and the purpose of this letter is to assure myself that the newly installed sewage system will he adequate for my ranch. The Percolation tests and permits are rather a lot of trouble, but I had felt that probably it was worth it because at least I would he assured of an adequate sewage system. Upon reading this permit, I an not so certain now. I will await your reply. • Sincerely yours, u ° MILLER, YOUBERG & /17A.3 CONSIDIN Da' d P„ Youberg, MEDICAL ASSOCIATES, P. C.
