Job No. 21,961 Wright McLaughlin 2420 Alcott Street Denver, Colorado 80211 Attn: Mr. Peter Johnson Gentlemen: As requested, we performed additional percolation testing at the subject site. Previous test results were presented under the above Job No. dated March 27, 1981. A total of 4 profile holes and 8 percolation test holes were drilled within the designated locations as shown on Figure 1. Graphic logs of the subsurface profiles encountered at the test holes are shown on Figure 2. In general, the western percolation area consists predaninantly of gravelly clays whereas the eastern percolation area consists of clayey gravel and cobbles with sane boulders to the maximum depth investigated, 9 feet. The deposits appear to be mudflow and alluvial derived. No free water was encountered in the test holes at time of drilling or when checked one day later. The percolation tests were perfcane 3 in approximate 3 foot depth holes one day following soaking. Percolation test results, presented on Table I, indicate rates between 30 to 45 minutes per inch for the western area and 48 to 80 minutes per inch for the eastern area. Considering the test results and subsurface profiles, the western area appears suitable for installation of a conventional infiltration bed system. The eastern area does not appear suitable. The slow percolation rates may in part be due to the high rock concen- tration and clay matrix which would impeed infiltration. Relocation or deepening of this proposed area should be considered. As -built drawings are being forwarded from our Denver office by Pete Johnson. The ground contours required a slight field revision in the alignment of leach field lines; otherwise all work was done per submitted design drawings. My in- spector personally verified slope on the leach field lines (maximum 0.10 %) and was present during the entire construction process. Schmidt -Tiago Construction Company was the licensed installer (License No. 037 issued 6/10/81). We have been using the system since completion (August 25, 1981); there have been no problems. If there are any additional questions, please contact either Pete Johnson or myself. (Address and phone number are above.) Since //A r Ronald B.
