RE: Residential Sewage Disposal System
Within a Portion of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of
Section 36, Township 6 South, Range 87 West of
the Sixth Principal Meridian, Colorado
CEA Job No. 1863.006
Dear Dr Scott:
The following report and design have been prepared for a
residential sewage disposal system to be constructed on the
referenced property in Garfield County. The design is intended to
meet the requirements of Garfield County's sewage disposal system
regulations.
Background
A 3- bedroom, single family residence is planned for the site. It
is anticipated that the residence will have an automatic clothes
washer but not a garbage disposal.
Percolation Tests
Percolation tests were performed in numerous spots throughout the
site. A slow percolation rate of 288 minutes per inch was
obtained. This rate is far too slow for conventional absorption
fields. Due to the probability of high soil moisture content in
the spring, a 480 minute per inch percolation will be used in our
design.
Inspection Hole
An 8 -foot deep inspection hole was previously dug on this site.
The test hole revealed, throughout its depth, a uniform clay. No
groundwater was encountered.
Evapotranspiration System
The proposed sewage disposal system design consists of combined
evapotranspiration and infiltration bed. The calculations for
sizing of the 2940 square foot bed are shown on the attached page.

The required system consists of one bed, 30 feet by 98 feet, or two
beds 18 feet by 82 feet each. The beds must be protected with a
curtain drain on the uphill side and both ends. This septic system
bed area must be separated from the dog kennel's septic system bed
area by at leat 50 feet. A site plan and cross - section of the
disposal system, showing typical items of construction, is included
with this report.
A copy of this report has been delivered to the Garfield County
Sanitation Department for review and approval. Please contact us
if we can be additional service to you.

RE: Dog Kennel and Residential Sewage Disposal Systems
Within a Portion of the Northeast 1/4 of the Northeast
1/4 of Section 36, Township 6 South, Range 87 West, of
the 6th Principal Meridian, Colorado
Job No. 1863.006
Dear Dr. Scott:
This letter is written as a supplement to the 2 sewage disposal
system application reports prepared for the residence and the dog
kennel for the above - referenced site. After a site review of the
excavation for the evapotranspiration bed for the dog kennel, we
determined that it will not be necessary to construct the curtain
drain along the uphill side and ends of the bed for either septic
system. However, all rainfall runoff from the dog kennel building
and nearby ground surface must be diverted away from the
evapotranspiration beds.
Please contact us if you have any questions or need additional
information. -
Sincerely,
