As you can see from the attached plot plan, the leech field is located outside the boundaries of the current lease on the Strang Ranch. Mike Strang has agreed to change the boundaries of the lease to include the area of the leech field. We are working on that now and should have the new lease completed within thirty days. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 963 -2491, Sincerely, Ron Leach District Chief Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District cc: Mike Strang HepworthPawlak Geotech TEL :303 -945 -8454 Rpr 27 94 16:28 No.006 P.02 11Erwoit'rti- PAW I.AX CiLOTECIIN1CAL, INC. 5(1711 Head 154 Glenwood Swings, ('O H 1601 April 25, 1994 Fax 3113 94 5 -84 54 P Phone MI 945 7988 Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District Attn: Ron Leach 300 Meadowood Road Carbondale, Colorado 81623 Job No. 194 117 Subject: Additional Percolation Testing, Proposed Fire Station, Strang Ranch, County Road 100, Garfield County, Colorado. Dear Mr. Leach: As requested by Bill Gavette, I lepworth- Pawlak Gcotechtlical, Inc. performed additional percolation testing at the subject site on April 16 and April 23, 1994. The findings of our work are presented in this report. We previously performed a subsoil study for the fire station and presented our recommendations in a report dated February 16, 1994. On April 15, 1994, we visited the site and observed two percolation holes which had been excavated and saturated. On April 16, percolation testing was performed on test holes P -1 and P -2. On April 23, we observed a Profile Pit and performed percolation testing on test hole P -3. C The soils exposed in the profile pit consisted of 0.5 foot of topsoil overlying sandy clay to the maximum depth explored, 8 feet. The profile pit was dry and the subsoils were slightly moist. The subsoils exposed in test hole P -3 were very moist. The percolation test results are summarized on Table 1. Locations of the percolation test holes and profile pit are shown on Fig. 1. The percolation test results indicate that the area tested is suitable for a conventional leach field septic system. The system should he oversized due to the variable percolation rates. 1f we can be of further assistance, do not hesitate to call our office. Sincerely, HEPWORTH- ( P ' AWLLAK C.' TECHNICAL, INC.
