On the same day, HCE personnel conducted percolation tests at the site. The average of the rates was approximately 30 minutes per inch. Based on the above, we recommend that a standard absorption system be used. The ISDS would serve a maintenance facility for the gravel pit and redi -mix operations. According to the owners, they expect a maximum of eight employees to make use of the facility. They expect the normal number of employees to be half that many. For eight employees, at 20 gallons per day per employee, the average wastewater flow would be 160 gallons per day. The design flow, per regulation, is 1.5 times the average, or 240 gallons per day. The required absorption area is 264 square feet. A standard gravel bed with perforated pipe would be adequate. The minimum size of septic tank required is only 300 gallon, but the minimum available is probably 1000 gallon. If smaller tanks are available, a minimum of 500 gallon should be used. 923 Cooper Avenue • Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Telephone: 303.9454676 • FAX: 303.945 -2555 • APR -06 -1995 11:13 HIGH COUNTRY ENGINEERING P• Garfield County April 5, 1995 Page 2 If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact us.
