The lest holes were (orated tilting the westerly portion of the southerly property line. The depth of the holes wars approximately two feat. previously, percolation testing had been performed by the county an a I ` reported depth of four Teti t and the results were unsatisfactory. We believe that the most shallow r im/ of the sail profile leas better percolation characteristics due; to the previous agricultural acti+ :ity which resulted it cultivation, irrigation, and the inclusion of organic. matter. Therefore. we recommend that the ottom of any absorption bed or trench not he deeper than two feet below existing grade, The teat roles were soaked the previous day with approximately 10 gallons of water. The percolatio'tt rite was checked for two and a half hours and the average percolation raw was 37 minutes 14r ijnch, However, due to the previous resting and clay nature (.1 'he soil, we iletommend a design gate of 45 minutes per inch. The estimated flows f4orhr the four bedroom house will be 600 gallons per day aveia,ge. and 900 gallons Tier day for the design rate, The minimum septic tails: size required would he 1250 • pallor.. however, we recdmmend that the next larger size be used. • with the above tows l end percolation rate, the required absorption tiros would be 1208 squme feet, Lased on the Colf'rt do Department of Healllr( tOH) formula. The EPA mairaal "On site Wastewater Treatmenk a ld Disposal " recotnt ,lepds a leading rate of 0,45 gallons per day per square foot for soils v'tth a percolation rate betwp•n3.0 and ti•O minutes per inch, 'This• rurblication usually tales verage flow rate for d& ' j a -Held size of 1333 square feet would be indicated. The CDOU allows a reduction in area fir the use o :t'Infiltrator units. If each unit is worth Ili. square feet, then 43 units would be required. Thus, four trenches of 11 units each would he roas nable. A distribution box between the septic tank and the trenches would be required to ilia ibute the effluent evenly between the trenches, I • III If you have any gttestionk, or need additional information, please contact us, 1 1 Sincerely, i HIGH .OUNTRY E!j4GjINEERING, INC. ‘li Ti oiy P.
