Fruita, CO 81521 Re: Camp Christian Sewage Disposal System Mr. Menge: This is to inform you of my telephone conversation on July 29, 1992, with Mr. Dick Bowman of the Colorado Department of Health., Water Quality Control Division In this conversation Mr. Bowman and I discussed your renovation of a restroom facility with showers at Camp Christian. We understand that the renovation involves a complete reconstruction of the restroom facility. When completed, the number of individual fixtures will not exceed the number of fixtures that are in presently being used in the existing restroom, and will utilize the existing septic system that is currently being used by the restroom. Mr. Bowman stated that as long as you do not increase the number fixtures ( which will increase the amount of effluent to the septic system) or alter the existing septic system, you are not required to apply for a permit from the Colorado Department of Health. Mr Bowman did recommend the use of water saving devices on showers and toilets. If you have any questions, or if I can be of further assistance to you, please give me a call. Permit ( #'s 4838, 4839, & 4840) for construction were issued on July 26, 1994. A site investigation indicates that the work authorized under these permits has been suspended or abandoned for a period in excess of 180 days. The UBC (Uniform Building Code) and other codes adopted by Garfield County require the following: 1. Construction under a permit issued by this department must be commenced within 180 days of the date of issuance in order for the permit to remain valid. 2. The Uniform Building Code as adopted by Garfield County require the requesting of a final inspection by the owner or contractor and completion of a final inspection by this department prior to the occupancy of the building. Under the requirements of 1988 UBC (Uniform Building Code) Section 303 the permits referred to have expired. Before work can be commenced or resumed, new building permits must be applied for, approved and issued by this department. All fees will be required to be paid.
