Dear Wayne:
As you requested, High Country Engineering, Inc. has checked the design load capacity of
the existing floor system in the commercial building currently under construction at the
Eastbank Subdivision. Per your information, the floor joists are 16" TJI /35 at 16" O.C. with
3/4" plywood decking glued and nailed. The clear span of the joists is 16' -4 ".
The calculated allowable live and dead loads are 45 pounds per square foot (psf) and 10 psf,
respectively for 16" O.C. or 90 psf and 10 psf for 8" O.C. (See attached TJ Beam computer
output.)
The live load shall be posted at the building in accordance with UBC 2304(e) for the
appropriate loading.
