We have reviewed your structural drawings for the Ross Jeffery residence. The residence
will be constructed on Lot 18 of the Teller Springs subdivision in Garfield County.
The plans that were reviewed contain the foundation plan, structural sections, and floor
and roof framing. These plans are acceptable from a structural standpoint and will support
-
the required loadings. The foundation design was based on a maximum allowable bearing
pressure of 600 psf. If a qualified geotechnical engineer determines that the soils can
support a greater load, the footer width will be adjusted.

Dear Bruce:
As we discussed, our firm was responsible for the structural design of the Jeffery
residence located in the Teller Springs subdivision. You requested that we specify
the design material properties for the structural log beams for the residence. The
purpose of this letter is to comply with that request.
The beams shall have the following properties:
Fb (Bending) - 900 psi
Fv (Shear Parallel to grain) - 65 psi
E (Modulus of Elasticity) - 1,700,000
