This foundation consists of a 6" slab, with a perimeter ring - wall to maintain slab rigidity and resist frost - heave. With the slab and ring -wall formed into one continuous pour, loads are distributed under the entire unit. A bearing load summary is as follows: Component Loading, psf Dead load - Foundation 345 Dead load - Bldg., Equipment 10 Live load -Snow, Misc. 60 415 1.2 x S.F. 85 500 The resultant 500 psf bearing stress is less than available soil bearing capacity, preventing minor soil variations from causing excessive movement of the unitized structure. A driveway approach is understood to be that portion of the high- way right-of-way between the pavement edge and the property line which is designed and used for the interchange of traffic between the road- way pavement and the abutting property. 2. At any intersection, a driveway shall be restricted for a suf- ficient distance from the intersection to preserve the normal and safe movement of traffic. (It is recommended for rural residence entrances that a minimum intors*ction clearance of 50 feet be prmvidnd and for rural commercial entrances a minimum of 180 feet be provided.) 3.
