PERMISSION IS HEREBY GRANTED TO THE APPLICANT AS OWNER, CONTRACTOR AND /OR THE AGENT OF THE CONTRACTOR OR OWNER TO
CONSTRUCT THE STRUCTURE AS DETAILED ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS SUBMITTED TO AND REVIEWED BY THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT
IN CONSIDERATION OF THE ISSUANCE OF THIS PERMIT THE SIGNER HEREBY AGREES TO COMPLY WITH ALL BUILDING CODES AND LAND USE
REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY GARFIELD COUNTY PURSUANT TO AUTHORITY GIVEN IN 30.28.201 CRS AS AMENDED. THE SIGNER FURTHER
AGREES THAT IF THE ABOVE SAID ORDINANCES ARE NOT FULLY COMPLIED WITH IN THE LOCATION, ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION AND USE OF

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Fitzgerald,
Sorry this took so long to get to you. Here is what we need to do to for your retroactive
building permit;
(1) Fill out the enclosed application, and bring it to the building department along with two sets of
plans ( #2).
(2) Submit two sets of plans that show the existing bedroom, existing egress window, and existing
stairway (see sample). Show all the dimensions of the basement, and what the different rooms are
used for. Clearly indicate on the plans where your "Proposed partition walls" will be (preten a# ` ; (; ::''
they have not been installed yet). State the material you will be constructing the walls wi 2x4. r "
2x6), what the center spacing will be, and what the walls will be covered with. L r
(3) The State of Colorado requires an electrical permit for any electrical work. A permit
application is enclosed. You will need to deal with them on what is necessary to pass a final
electrical inspection. r r,,
(4) Your fees will be as follows:
Valuation of work = $1500 l'-
Permit fee = $48.50
Investigation fee = $48.50
Plan review fee = $31.53
TOTAL $128.53
(5) Bring in your permit application, two sets of plans, and the total fees no later than Friday
August 16, 1996 (30 days). Bring this letter with you to refer to the plan we have worked out for
you. After we review your plans, one set will be returned to you. You will need to review any
additional requirements that have been requested by us, make any requested changes (smoke
detector and handrail for stairs at a minimum), and CALL us to schedule an inspection to confirm
that everything has been done. Inspections in your area are always done in the morning, and you
need to call at least 24 hours in advance.
